Holiday Recap

We had so much fun over the holidays...so much fun than I think we need a holiday from the holidays.  Funny how that happens, isn't it?  It works out nicely since one of my new years resolutions is to slow down and live in the moment more.  We've relaxed our schedule quite a bit this month and it seems to be suiting us all just fine.  I like when that happens!

Here's a glimpse into some of the fun that filled our last couple of weeks...

We discovered a new grocery store in Palm Beach Gardens thanks to groupon. Tunies is a FANTASTIC organic grocery store with lots of cool extra like orange juice you squeeze yourself...

...and the delicious Christmas dinner we ordered from them.  YUM!!

We had some fun hanging out with Oma and Aunt Joan on Christmas...

...and had fun at our old stomping grounds, Redeemer Lutheran, for Christmas Eve church...

...the boys fell asleep just like old times :-)  I love a good candlelight service...

The boys continued their adorable napping at home while we dined on lasagna...

We enjoyed dessert with some WONDERFUL friends and it made for a perfect Christmas Eve.   This girl makes any day brighter...

Merry Christmas from the Plankers...

Christmas truly was magical this year with the boys.   Santa seemed to know just what they wanted...

I did a pretty good job of keeping their tummies happy too thanks to a very cool Christmas gift I received...

Then it was time to try out some of the presents...

We had plenty of time for silly snuggles and family time on Christmas too...

The day after Christmas, we headed to the beach to try out some of our other new toys...

The kites were fun and we've become huge fans of digging holes too...

We went to the beach as much as possible over the holidays.  My family even got to join in on the fun.  Aunt Leah loved her beach buddies...

Aunt Miriam got in some relaxation too...

The boys showed Mimsy how to dig a good hole too...

...she was pretty good with the blocks too...

We love all our family.  We're so blessed by them.

Thanks to Aunt Leah and Aunt Miriam, the boys have discovered their love of donuts...

YUM!!  And thanks to Uncle Aaron, they have lots of cool new shirts too :-)

We decided to tackle the potty training thing over the holidays so besides spending time at the beach, we also spent alot of time on the froggy potties...

Check out their rewards from Mimsy and Grandpa...

 Gotta love the Dollar Tree!

We got to enjoy Leah's company even after my parents left.  She's so much fun to have around...

We took the boys to see their first movie, Frozen...

...they did GREAT!!  (And didn't wet their pants either ;-)  )

We tried our hand at pizza-making at Santos too...

...hard to beat the entertainment and meal for $3.50 a kid.  We will definitely be back!

The fun continued after New Years when Miriam came back to join me for a half marathon.  It was so fun to run her first long race with her and she did a fantastic job of meeting her goal of a 2 hour race with a time of 2 hours and 18 seconds.   I can't wait for our next one :-)

She is the proof that training pays off.  She did AWESOME!!

As if a half marathon isn't enough of an accomplishment for one day, we also took the boys to build some new desk calendars at Home Depot...

...Mason spent most of his time trying to go to the bathroom.  Poor kid!  Potty training is TOUGH!!

Sunday was the perfect day for our little polar bears to test out the cold water in our pool...

...our other polar bears braved the cold as well :-)...

Mickey and I stayed on the pool deck :-)

We finished out our last day of company with some cookie baking....

...one last hurrah for the sweets.

Now we're back to life as usual.  I'm back on the Whole 30, back to a consistent workout routine including some P90x3, some T25, and lots of running while working towards feeling great again after a month of overindulgence.  I'm also taking a step back from some of my busyness and focusing more on family time.  No regrets, though...I enjoyed every minute of our holiday family time.  Life is good!!!!!!!
