Mickey had the week between Christmas and New Year's off so we took full advantage of it with some chores combined with a bit of a staycation. It was pretty darn fantastic.
We went to Busch Wildlife Center, a favorite destination of ours. We love checking out all the animals...
...checking to see if we're getting any closer to being the same size as an eagle...
...and just enjoying each other's company as well, of course...
After that little taste of nature, we decided to up the ante and continue on to Lion Country Safari. Wouldn't it be way more fun if traffic jams always included ostriches??...
...these guys were some of our favorites too...
...but I think the giraffes stole the show...
This just might be the best photo bomb ever...
The carnival rides were a big hit as well...
We also made a few trips to the beach...
...one trip even included my family and I managed to sneak into one of my dad's beach photos...
...and days at the beach typically lead to post beach happy hours which are always fine by me...
The fun continued with a trip to DeLand to ring in the new year with Miriam, Leah, and my parents...
...the boys even made it all the way to midnight...
After not enough sleep after that late night, we all hit the road for a day in St. Augustine. Cheers to 2015...
We had such a fun day with Mimsy and Teddy...
...and finished off the night with a train ride to check out all the Christmas lights...
...oh, and a spotting of this guy at the gas station...
...gotta love St. Augustine! Next up, our trip to NASA...stay tuned!
