A Fantastic Vacation - Part 2

The boys and I couldn't wait to get to my grandparents house.  We'd been talking about going there for months so when the time finally arrived, we were more than ready.  It was just a short trip in the car from my aunt's house.  The boys were such good travelers...

It is always so good to see them and since they live on a farm, there is plenty to see and do...

I also got to enjoy a run on the calm country roads...

It was very tranquil running past rows and rows of corn.

I am so bummed that I never took any photos inside the house with my Grandma.  They are both truly amazing people and are so good with the boys.  It not easy being over 80 and having 2 toddlers come into your house for 2 days.  They were troopers and we had a fantastic time.  We LOVE them!!

Next up on our adventures was a stop in Chicago to visit my brother and sister...

Abigail, Aaron, and Jenny were phenomenal hosts and packed our visit full of fun stuff, like a visit to Northwestern, where Aaron works in the athletic department...

The boys love Willie the Wildcat.

Check out how small they are on the football field.

We also took a peak at Lake Michigan while we were there...

This shot was captured just as Colton lost his shoe down between those giant rocks...woops!  Thank goodness for Uncle Aaron and his skilled retrieval of it!

Jenny was such a good sport at dinner, keeping Colton entertained...

Mason entertained himself by eating as much parmesan cheese as possible...

We watched some fireworks that night from the rooftop before calling it a night.  What a fun day and it was only the beginning.  The next day was full of adventure.  We passed the fire station on the way to the L, where the nice fireman let us check out the truck...

The boys enjoyed their ride on the L...

There's so much to see from up on those tracks...

We even got off in the subway which was an added bonus.  It's so fun seeing the world through the eyes of a toddler-- the everyday things become exciting!

After a little walk, we finally made it to the Linclon Park Zoo!!!  We loved the farm exhibit, of course...

...and the rest of the animals were a hit as well...

The fun continued with a visit to the fountain...

...a stop for some yummy thai food, and nap time back at the condo before heading out again to the park...

How's the for a fun day??  Totally family friendly and loads of fun.  The excitement didn't end there but this post has got to come to an end.  Back to reality for me...stay tuned!!
