Pre-Wedding Fun in Chicago

The Chicago adventure kicked off with an early morning run with Aaron while the boys played with Mimsy and Grandpa at the condo...

...no complaints from me during a cool morning run with views like that.

After we showered and refueled, it was time to pick-up Mickey and Miriam from the airport.  It was SO good to be reunited with my better half.

Our first stop--Lincoln Park Zoo...

....needless to say, we had a GREAT time.  I wish every town had a FABULOUS FREE zoo.  We could have spent the entire day there.

That night, we got a chance to go out with all of the siblings...

...the family is growing and I couldn't be more happy!  It's so much fun now that we're all finally adults :-)

The next morning we ventured out to the local farmers market.  It wasn't much but we did get some delicious brownies.  Since the farmers market left us wanting more, we stopped by a local coffee shop, Everybody's Coffee, on the way home.  YUM!!

I liked the sign by their pastries...

...glutton free, haha!  I do love that Chicago has a TON of gluten free options when dining out.  Lucky for all of you people who live there.  I'm jealous!!

After regrouping at the condo, and getting the boys down for a nap, we headed out for some hot dogs at Hot Dougs...

...apparently this place is popular...

...we spent over and hour in that line, drizzling rain and all...

...only to run out of time to wait in line.  We had to ditch our spot in line when we were SOOOO close to avoid missing our pre-wedding nail appointment...BUMMER!!  I was looking forward to the buffalo chicken one...next time.

After getting our nails done, we met back up with the men and some of us headed out for dinner and drinks on the town again while my parents watched the kids.  I sure do love built in babysitters :-)

The next morning kicked off with a PHENOMENAL class at FlyWheel Chicago.  A spin class that has torq and RPM readouts as well as some upper body resistance work...yes, please!!  The torq board where you can compare yourself to the other riders was right up my competitive alley.  I loved it!!  It was the perfect last workout before Abigail's wedding.

Once back at the condo, we regrouped and hit the road for the Museum of Science and Industry.  These boys got pretty excited every time we stepped out the door onto the sidewalks of the city...

...some of our favorites at the museum included the trains...

...and the little chicks...

I loved all the human body stuff.   So cool!!  It was SUCH a fun morning.

Before we knew it, it was time to head to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner...

...can you tell we were ready for some fun?!...

Mason was so excited, he even fell asleep during the rehearsal...

...too funny!!

Lou Malnati's was such a great place for a rehearsal dinner, especially with such a fun group.  What's not to love about Chicago-style pizza, wings, calamari, salad, beer, wine, etc...

...these two were definitely ready to tie the knot...

The boys had fun playing with their second cousin who we finally got to meet...

...if there's a tunnel, these three-year-olds will find it...

There's never a lack of smiles when you get our whole family together, especially as it continues to grow...

Needless to say, we were blowing up instagram and the wedding party app, which is very cool by the way...

We could hardly wait for the wedding that was coming the next day.  Stay tuned for details...
