Tortuga Weekend

We had one heck of a busy weekend with Leah in town.  We kicked off our Friday with a couple of errands before heading down to West Palm to pick up Leah from the airport.  One of those errands included a stop at the pet store...

...gotta love Petco and their little shopping carts.  Shopping is fun for everyone there ;-)

Our Friday evening entertainment included some jumping on the trampoline...

...a break for dinner and then more fun outside with a ride to feed the "chicken duck" our leftover bread.  We're getting more and more adventurous with our little friend :-)...

It's always fun to have extra company along for our adventures...

Daddy even helped Colton with his off-roading skills...

Before we hit the road for Fort Lauderdale and the fun that is the Tortuga Music Festival, we swung by Lowe's to build a recycling truck...

Cotlon decided to wear his goggles this time...safety first!!

The rest of my weekend was spent on the beach in Fort Lauderdale with Leah at the Tortuga Music Festival.  This was pretty much my view all weekend...

...lots of dancing, lots of country music, lots of standing (11 hours straight on Sunday), lots of waiting for shows to start, lots of sunshine on Saturday and lots of rain on Sunday, lots of other people drinking beer (I abstained since I had to drive home), etc.

My favorite shot of the weekend was this one of Chase Rice singing with his baby girl strapped to him in a baby carrier with headphones on to protect her ears...

Some of my favorites were Sheryl Crow, Dierks Bentley, and Train, and Eric Pasley, Cole Swindell, and Billy Currington.  The most entertaining act, by far, was Luke Bryan....

This is my Sunday night, post-festival, I survived Tortuga with my die-hard country music fan sister Leah face...

...it was fun, and exhausting :-) to spend the weekend with her.

I came home to this lovely gift from my Colton...

It was nice to know I was missed since I only saw them each day for breakfast.  I'm pretty sure they had fun with their guy's weekend....especially their trip to Bass Pro Shop and a dinosaur birthday party.

Yesterday was back to reality, a tired reality that is :-)  Leah and I dropped off the boys at their play group and then headed off to do a little shopping before picking them back up.  We spent the rest of our day around the house before loading the boys up for a long walk with the stroller during their nap time.  We finished up our last night with Leah with a little stop for happy hour.  Once his chocolate milk was gone, Mason snacked on his next favorite thing--salt...

YUCK!

Today, before the sun was up, Mickey and I did our T25 workout.  I'm not gonna lie...I miss p90x3.  I enjoy those workouts much more but I'm giving this program a fair shot too.  At least it's only 25 minutes a day of torture :-)

After breakfast, we did our usual story time thing this morning.  The featured books were...

Today was extra special because we had a reporter there and are looking forward to being featured in the paper.  Woohoo!!

And now it's pool time...just can't get enough sunshine before we send Leah back to the cold state of Indiana :-)

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

Someone told me recently that "the days of parenting are long but the years are short."  Sometimes,  I do agree, but lately I feel like our days have been flying by.  Of course, days spent with two three year old boys are always busy and always an adventure so it's hard for life to feel like it's dragging on.  They also say, "time flies when you're having fun."  These days, I think I have to agree with that statement a bit more...of course I'd amend it to say "time flies when you're having fun...or keeping twin 3-year-old boys alive and out of trouble :-).  Here's a glimpse into how our time has flown this week...

We've taken several bike rides on our new "big boy bikes" to feed the "chicken duck"...

...we visited Blue Door a couple of times for story time and chocolate milks...

Tuesday mornings' Story Time selections were...

and

Wednesday night's selections included...

and

Mason charmed a little newborn friend of ours...

(he might just make a good big brother one day after all :-)  )

We got some Omaha steaks which means we had some fun with dry ice...

...3 year old boys are so easily impressed :-)

We got some cool new headlamps from a friend who knows my boys EXTREMELY well...

...they haven't stopped checking everything out with them since they opened the package.  Their favorite activity so far is checking out each others' mouths :-)

We saw Daryl Strawberry at the Jupiter Hammerheads game...

I have a feeling the $25 we spent on the Knot Hole Gang was money well spent...

....the boys have so much fun at the games.  Hot dogs, lemonade, peanuts, balls and bats flying into the stands, etc.  What's not to love, right???

We also had some fun in the gift shop imagining what Mickey would look like with hair...

....we like him better bald :-)

Of course we had several visits to the park...

...the swings continue to be a huge hit with these two smiley boys.  I love getting my runs in en route to the park.  Exercise for everyone...SCORE!!

The boys also got to check out one of their birthday gifts yesterday...

...sidewalk paint.  Why didn't I think of that??  SOOO fun!!

I did a little painting myself doing some prep work for Abigail's upcoming bachelorette party...

...almost done :-)

We also squeezed in a little train spotting...

...and a little splashing in our pool...

We fixed our pool heater and we're enjoying the warmer temps already.  We're really looking forward to summer and daily dips in the pool.

Oh, and Mickey and I got a couple of kid-free hours at for a little open house in conjunction with some work he's been doing...

...they even took our picture for us.  How nice!  Those country clubs sure know how it's done :-)

Now we're gearing up for a gorgeous weekend with Leah in town...

...there's plenty more fun in the plans for this weekend and we can't wait.  Yay for exciting weekend plans :-)

Baseball Season, A Visit to the Easter Bunny, and Some Sunshine

It's baseball season and even though the boys are only 3, we're gearing up for the season.  While visiting Target to get new Easter baskets, we HAD to check out the baseball gloves that just might end up in our Easter baskets if we're lucky.  They had fun making sure they worked...

...now the test of patience begins.  :-)

We also tested out the helmets this weekend while continuing to check out our glove options at Sports Authority...

...Dad wants to make sure we get the best glove possible for them.  He's a catch, that one.  Next year maybe the Easter bunny will bring them helmets...lol.

Speaking of the Easter Bunny, we weren't as brave this year as we were last year...

...that's right, it's a good thing I brought Mickey along with us because there was NO way there were getting near that bunny without us.  Those smiles are tickle-induced by the way.  Thanks, Lindsey Potter for that lovely little trick :-)  And thanks Gardens Mall for the lovely memory we'll laugh about for years to come.

The night wasn't a total bust because we had some other friends along too and had a fabulous time with lots of laughs over dinner after our Easter Bunny visit.

Saturday we did our usual First Saturday of the Month thing and visited the Home Depot for a little bird feeder building project...

...the boys continue to develop their hammering and painting skills and I continue to have a blast completeing projects with them.  It's so much for to experience their sense of accomplishment along with them.

It's also fun to experience the wonder of Home Depot with them afterwards.  It's better than Toys R Us if you ask them...

...who knows, maybe it will be a high school job for them :-)

We spent the rest of our Saturday morning at a birthday party and then got to enjoy a little date night...photo free.  It was GLORIOUS to get out on the town with my husband all to myself for a few hours.  We MUST find a way to do that more often.

Sunday was too gorgeous to resist a trip to the beach...

...after a few hours in the sun and sand, we headed to lunch.  I love dining with sandy toes and my boys...

...they were as mischievous as always.

We finished out our weekend with some bike rides, a little splashing in the pool,  and lots of jumping on the new trampoline...

....talk about a great birthday present. It's the ultimate energy burner :-)  I don't think it will be getting old any time soon.  Thanks Mimsy and Grandpa.

Today it was back to the routine with play group for the boys where they made some adorable crafts...

...while I tackled a few errands and scored a major deal thanks to a computer error at Michaels...

I wish I would have bought more of those goodies.  Lucky me!!

We also did a little crafting at home before naps...

...thanks to my genious idea to add come depth to the carrot, it now looks like a tiger carrot...  How do I fix that???    Oh well!

Time to make some dinner...oven fajitas are on the menu tongiht.  YUM!!
